Practice basic closeouts.
Have the players line up across from each other, about 15-20 feet apart. All the players in one line have a ball. The players toss the ball up and to the opposite player. While the ball is in the air they close out. After catching the ball the player lifts the ball overhead. The defensive player moves in and keeps their feet moving. When the player brings the ball down the defensive player backs off, with a hand in the shot pocket. Again the feet are moving. The player dribbles once or twice to the side and the defensive player reacts and slides with the ball handler.
