Match up an offensive and defensive player. The players start at the block with the defensive player denying the pass to the wing. On the coach’s order the offensive player cuts backdoor and the defensive player opens up to defend the cut. The offensive player then posts up and the defensive player denies the pass on the high side, fronts and denies on the low side. The coach then instructs the offensive player to “go away” and the offensive player clears out to the far side wing. The defensive player moves to help position – one foot in the lane. The coach skip passes to the offensive player and the defender closes out. The offensive player passes back to the coach and flashes to the foul line. The defender steps in front of the pass and speed dribbles down court for the layup.
