Use the glide dribble to get outside the defender's hip and attack. (video option)
The glide dribble is used to move the defender laterally and probe for opportunities to attach the defender’s hip. Practice by beginning at the baseline / sideline intersection. With a ball in your right hand glide to the right, leading with the ball (similar to a defensive slide). Repeat all the way around the 3 point line. Return using the left hand, and gliding to the left. Work on getting increasing distance on each glide. Add a split and go step to attack off the glide – both left and right and with a shoot out and cross step. Build on the above using a glide dribble into a cross over dribble into a shootout.
