Description

Practice getting square to the basket or post player off the dribble using a step back or spin move..

Summary

When a ball handler is dribbling down the sideline or lane they are not in triple threat position because their shoulders are facing the sideline, rather than the basket. This can be adjusted by using the step back move off the dribble or using a spin move to get square to the basket (and the post player).

Set up a chair at each wing at the 3-pt. line. Starting at the top of the key the player makes a move and dribbles to the chair. At the chair the player uses a step back move to get square and make the pass or shot. The player can also make a ½ spin or spin move to turn and square. Practice all three from both sides.
