Practice a Kobe Bryant spin move to improve balance and gain body position on your defender.
Practice with the feet set on the foul line, left foot at “9 o’clock, right foot at “3 o’clock”. Toss the ball up and catch it in triple threat position. Shoulder fake right then spin back and around from right to left, pivoting on the left foot (you will begin facing the end line/ basket, as you turn you will face the sideline, the opposite end line / basket and the other sideline). The right foot moves from “3 o’clock” to 10 “o’clock”. As the right foot hits the floor the player puts the ball down (at the right foot) with the left hand and dribbles into space. Keep the ball at the right hip and in tight to the body. Throw the elbows and torso hard in the direction of the spin. Practice from both the left and right pivot foot.
