Practice changing speed and direction.
This exercise demonstrates how changing speed and changing direction can influence space. Set up 2 players in a 30’X30’ space. 1 player jogs to opposite end of the space; other player jogs along trying to maintain an arm’s length away; repeat this time changing speed; then repeat it again, this time changing speed and changing direction. It will be more difficult for the follower to keep close – even a quicker player.
