Practice trap escapes, step back , step through. (video option)

Summary

Always face the basket on the catch. If trappers are approaching ball fake to raise their hands. Attack one with the dribble – preferably the slower one or one who is out of position. Use step backs and hip swivels to make space for the pass or the dribble but don’t retreat too far. Whenever possible pass before the trap is set. Most trappers will not close in until you pick up you dribble. Try to keep your dribble alive. If you must pick up your dribble step back, protecting the ball and step through, strong with the ball.
